Apricot kernel oil
Prunus armeniaca kernel oil
Discover apricot kernel oil’s smooth, conditioning feel and explore it in our standalone oil, Botanical Body Oil and two body scrubs.
What is apricot kernel oil?
Apricot kernel oil comes from the kernel inside the fruit’s stone. In cosmetic ingredient lists, it appears as Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil, sometimes with “Apricot” included in brackets. It is a botanical oil used in skin and haircare formulations.
For skincare, its appeal is the smooth, conditioning feel it brings to a formula. In our range you can explore it as a standalone oil, within a scented body-oil blend, and in two body scrubs. Each format offers a different way to experience the ingredient.

Texture, glide and the finished formula
Apricot kernel oil helps an oil blend spread over the skin, providing the slip that makes a body massage feel smooth. Our Botanical Body Oil combines it with other botanical oils to create a silky finish. The amount you apply influences the feel, so begin with a little and add more only where needed.
In a scrub, that same oil sits alongside textured ingredients. It helps carry the grains across damp skin and contributes to the conditioned feel after rinsing. The grains and oil work together, but their roles are different: the physical polishing comes from the scrub particles.
The presence of apricot kernel oil does not tell you everything about a product. A standalone oil, a fragranced blend and a grainy body polish have different textures, directions and intended uses. Choose the complete product that fits the step you want in your routine.

Apricot Kernel Oil
Explore the standalone oil for a simple oil-based skincare or massage routine. Follow the directions on the bottle for its intended uses.
Explore Apricot Kernel Oil →Botanical Body Oil
Apricot kernel oil sits alongside sweet almond, jojoba and meadowfoam oils, with vitamin E. Jasmine absolute, lavender and bergamot give this blend its floral aroma.
Explore Botanical Body Oil →Mineral Detox Body Scrub
Apricot kernel oil and coconut oil accompany raw cane sugar, coconut sugar and bentonite clay. The oil contributes to the conditioning feel; the grains provide physical exfoliation.
Explore Mineral Detox Body Scrub →Relaxing Magnesium Body Scrub
A blend of Epsom salt, raw cane sugar and coconut sugar with apricot kernel oil, fractionated coconut oil and vitamin E. Massage gently onto damp body skin, then rinse.
Explore Relaxing Magnesium Body Scrub →Carrier oils and aromatic ingredients
Apricot kernel oil belongs to the oil base of our Botanical Body Oil. It is joined by sweet almond oil, jojoba and meadowfoam seed oil. Vitamin E is also included in the blend.
Jasmine absolute, lavender essential oil and bergamot essential oil provide the body oil’s fragrance. They have a different role from the carrier oils. This is why the words “oil” and “essential oil” should not be treated as interchangeable when reading a formula.
The same distinction helps when comparing the scrubs: Mineral Detox has tea tree and lemon, while Relaxing Magnesium has peppermint and rosemary. Their shared apricot kernel oil does not make them the same blend or give them the same scent.
Choosing a place in your routine
For body moisturising, the Botanical Body Oil’s directions recommend massaging a small amount onto clean skin, ideally while it is still slightly damp after bathing or showering. Take a moment to spread it evenly and allow the blend to settle before dressing.
For exfoliation, apply the chosen body scrub to damp skin, massage gently and rinse thoroughly. Both featured scrub pages suggest use one or two times a week. Follow your product label, avoid broken or irritated skin, and do not scrub harder to compensate for using less product.
The standalone Apricot Kernel Oil offers another format to explore. Follow the bottle’s directions rather than borrowing instructions from a scented body oil or scrub. If trying a new product, introduce it gradually and stop use if irritation occurs.
There is no need to use every format in one session. You might choose an oil for everyday body care and reserve a scrub for an occasional polishing step. Let the product instructions and your skin’s comfort guide the routine.
Reading labels and looking after your products
Check the whole ingredient list, especially if you know you react to a particular fragrance or botanical ingredient. “Contains apricot kernel oil” describes one part of a formula; it does not mean that the finished product contains only that oil.
Close bottles and jars after use and follow their storage instructions. Keep them away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. For scrubs, use a clean, dry scoop and keep water out of the jar between uses.
Take care around baths and showers, as oil-containing products can leave surfaces slippery. Use scrubs for their intended body-care purpose and avoid contact with the eyes. The current label remains your reference for application, storage and any product-specific precautions.
