Understanding DMSO: Properties, Formats & Careful Use
DMSO attracts interest in alternative wellbeing because of its solvent properties.
DMSO attracts interest in alternative wellbeing because of its solvent properties. Clear preparation details are more useful than dramatic stories or universal benefit claims.
What is DMSO?
Dimethyl sulfoxide is a sulphur-containing compound used as a solvent. It is chemically different from MSM; the two should not be exchanged or measured as equivalent products.
Formulation matters
Liquid, gel and specialised preparations have different ingredients and intended uses. Percentage, purity and the full formula are separate details. High purity does not establish suitability for swallowing or injecting.
Avoid improvised mixtures
DMSO can affect the passage of other substances through skin. Do not improvise combinations with essential oils, herbal extracts, cosmetics or medicines.
Interpreting stories
An anecdote cannot establish that a substance repairs DNA, reverses a genetic condition or regenerates an organ. An animal story is not a reliable guide to a human preparation.
Read the label
Identify the intended use, all ingredients, concentration and storage directions. Do not substitute industrial or laboratory material for a personal-use product.
Practical boundaries
This guide is not an oral, injectable or home-mixing regimen. Do not self-treat a serious condition or delay assessment. Stop preparations that cause unwanted reactions. Medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding and children require particular care.
